Shane is incredibly interested in the mesolimbic system and the effects of addiction on the central nervous system. Currently, Shane is working on better understanding how chronic opioid use affects the central nervous system. He is currently investigating possible interventions that might mitigate relapse and restore cellular homeostasis.
