Telese Lab Receives NIH U01 Renewal to Map the Molecular Basis of Drug Addiction

We're excited to receive an NIH/NIDA U01 renewal award to continue investigating the molecular basis of addiction vulnerability.

The project — Single-cell resolution analysis of chromatin accessibility and gene expression changes in a model of drug addiction — uses single-cell multiomics and spatial transcriptomics to map molecular changes in reward and addiction circuits, paired with computational modeling to connect these findings to human genetic risk for opioid use disorder.

This is a multi-PI effort with Dr. Abraham Palmer (UC San Diego) and Dr. Graham McVicker (Salk Institute), with Dr. Olivier George as co-Investigator.

Grateful to be doing this alongside such a great team by combining cutting-edge experimental models, multiomics, and computational approaches.
